Jude's Take

What is the game-changer question?

Okay, I bet you said listening — not talking.

And you know why. People usually listen to judge, to agree, or because they’re waiting to talk about themselves. They don’t really listen to learn.

So here’s a tip:

When you ask a question, listen to the answer.
Then ask the follow-up question.

It tells the person you’re speaking with — one-on-one or in a group — that you actually heard them, instead of jumping to the topic you want to talk about.
