Okay, I bet you said listening — not talking.
And you know why. People usually listen to judge, to agree, or because they’re waiting to talk about themselves. They don’t really listen to learn.
So here’s a tip:
When you ask a question, listen to the answer.
Then ask the follow-up question.
It tells the person you’re speaking with — one-on-one or in a group — that you actually heard them, instead of jumping to the topic you want to talk about.
